Carbon Fiber Processing and Forming

Carbon Fiber is a polymer and is sometimes known as graphite fiber. It is a very strong material that is also very lightweight. Carbon fiber is five-times stronger than steel and twice as stiff. There are a variety of ways to process carbon fiber. Some common ways to process carbon fiber products include hand laying, press forming, injection, CNC machining vacuum forming and laminating just to name a few. In short though properties that make carbon fiber the super material it has come to be known as today involves a chemical and mechanical process/reaction. There are a variety or surface finishes and patterns to choose from when it comes to material finishing. In the world around us there are many applications from high end fashion accessories for the appearance of carbon fiber, to aerospace parts being made from the material do to its mechanical and physical properties. Carbon fiber really is a material of the modern world.
